    The name of the charity I chose is called “The Blue Bell Foundation for Cats”. The purpose of this charity is that cat’s can have a special place to find tranquility at. This foundation takes care of cat’s who are seniors and have a poor prospect of getting adopted or cat’s have no home to reside in. Senior cats don’t typically get adopted,it is sad for the older cat who is dealing with the stress of losing its owner. If the shelter is a kill shelter, the cat won’t be kept for long. Many people do not think of an estate plan for their animals and where and how they will get to their new home. Blue Bell has 2 cottages with spacious patios and a vast amount of plants and flowers. I think this is a valuable charity because this charity has a great amount of responsibility and care for animals. In 1993 fires were racing down into Laguna Beach and more than 400 houses were destroyed and about 125 cats were rescued from houses. They were taken to El Toro Hospital and with not enough crates, 3 to 4 cats were put in each crate. Currently Blue Bell Foundation is keeping spare crates for emergency evacuations. This charity has been around since 1980. The founder, Bertha Gray Yergat opened her house to cats in 1960. The Blue Bell Foundation for Cats is Located at 20982 Laguna Canyon Rd, Laguna Beach, CA 92651. The mission statement of Blue Bell Foundation for Cats is “The Blue Bell Foundation for Cats offers loving and compassionate lifetime care for senior cats whose owners can no longer care for them.”   If someone was interested they could help in many ways. One way is You can contribute to one of their specific funds like Cat Care, Community Cat, Campus Renovation, Blue Bell Gardens or Endowment.
