I was awokened by my roommates mom calling She told us to turn on the tv to see what was happening. As we were watching we saw the second plane hit. In all honesty, at first we were numb. What was happening? Who was doing this? For the entire day we waited holding our breaths, waiting to see what else would happen. I'll never forget the fear and sadness in everyone's eyes that day.

I woke up in time to turn on the news and see the 1st tower fall. I was stunned and devastated while watching the footage. My feelings quickly turned to fear because my dad is an airline pilot....thankfully he was home on the 11th, but he was supposed to leave the next day and I was terrified for him to go. I knew that this day would change our world forever.

I was driving to work when one of the DJ' s said his wife had called about something that had happened in New York. After a bit of checking, they announced the first hit. Shortly after, I walked into my office and had to check the tv in the jury room for updates. I worked in the Courthouse - attorneys and litigants were calling in to see if we were open, which we were until about 10, when they evacuated the building. It was the next few days that were the worst - no one knew anything, there were no planes in the sky and when we returned to work there was tighter security - a building you used to be able to just walk into now has deputies and metal detectors at the door.

I had just finished my workout at 24 hour Fitness by Grossmont Center. I looked up in the locker room at the tv and saw the first plane hit. I remember telling another lady it was terrorism. I took a quick shower and came out to see the second plane hit. I remember being speechless and wanting to cry, but couldn't because I was so shocked. I went to work and spent the whole day going out to the TVs in our lobby to stay updated. I remember the days after the world feeling so quiet, their were no planes or helicopters flying. Very strange!

I was at home getting ready to leave for work. My dad worked nights and came in the door and told my mom and me to turn on the tv. Something terrible had happened. We watched as the 2nd plane hit the south tower. We could not believe what was happening. It was the sadest day I have lived through. I will never forget that day. I will never forget how weird it felt. But in the end the most unforgettable thing is how our country came together as one. In tragedy there is strength.

I was living in Chicago and was walking into work when I noticed that people were in the board room crying and watching the news on a large screen. They sent us all home because we were in a high rise and no one felt safe. I went and picked my son up from school and went to the family barber shop to meet up with all of our family members. We weren't sure what was going to happen or if we would be safe.

I was at home that morning, getting ready to go to school. I was in the credential program at SDSU and we were meeting at school in La Mesa. My husband called to tell me what was happening. Then when I got to school we turned on the news to watch. We were sad, silent & in shock, but it felt good to be together. We shared stories and hugs to help us all through the day.

I woke up and turned on the news to watch my CEO at the time speak about our work. When I turned on the news I couldn't figure out what I was seeing, why wasn't the news on I thought to myself. When I figured out what I was watching I yelled for my Mom to come see. We both left for work and listed to the radio to keep updated. It was a gloomy morning. Not much got done at work and many of my co-workers left early as there were many false threats. It really is a day I will never forget! I couldn't
be more thankful for our first responders.

My husband saw the coverage of the event on the TV and woke me up. My older sister lives in New York. Our first job was to see if they were safe.and that their children and extended family in the city were safe. They were. safe, although everyone in New York knows someone affected in this tragedy. It was my son's first day of preschool. I went to school with him all day, just in case new events broke out. Not many children showed up. We spent the day with children playing with play dough, painting and playing. We did not watch the news or talk about it at preschool. I had a sheltered day. But later all the events and stories came out. I think every adult cried that day and many afterward and held their children close, worried about the problems of the world.
