Bullying is a not wanted, aggressive behavior in school aged kids that involves a real power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious lasting problems. Bullying is when someone is being hurt by words or actions on purpose, usually more than once, feels bad because of it, and has a hard time stopping what is happening to them.

Parents can help stop bullying. They can recognize the warning signs that your child is involved in bullying. They could be being bullied, bullying others, or witnessing bullying. Although these signs could signal other issues, you should talk to your child if they show any sort of behavioral or emotional changes. Many times kids won't ask for help so it is important to know what to look for. If your child is at risk of harming themselves or others, get help as soon as possible.
