A large amount of alcohol consumed by one person can cause sickness, for example vomiting, diarrhoea, head aches and blackouts. 

Long term: Long term effects caused by drinking alcohol includes intentional harm to another person, this includes firearm injuries, sexual assault and domestic violence.
