(4.1.105-107) The third apparition says this to Macbeth in correlation with the witches, with this being a downplay on the seize of Dunsinane Hill by Malcolm and Macduff who disguise as the forest by holding boughs. Macbeth's taken comfort in the prophecy by the belief in woods being unable to move leads him to believe his fate on the throne is secure, and is his ultimate undoing when Malcolm and Macduff's army do show up. The armies disguise as a forest could be a deeper meaning of Macbeth's foolishness and greed catching up with him, his bad karma coming back despite what he may have believed the witches promised.

Macbeth is scared when Birnam wood moves.
