I think Matt gets bullied because everyone else knows everyone in the town and suddenly there is a new guy so maybe they think we'll we don't know this guy so let's tease him. He also could have bullied because maybe Susan has been telling everyone about him or she might have even found ND his speech and be telling everyone about that.

The other students might also take advantage of the fact that he wasn't used to a country school and also because there isn't any teachers around. Finally, I think Ryan could be angry that everyone else accepted him so soon.
