-Along with Health Care and Education Reconcilition Act amendment represents the most significant regulatory overhaul since Medicare and Medicaid(1965).
-This act expanded Medicaid.

-Many people who already had insurance now have higher premiums
-New taxes are being collected on pharmaceuticals and medical equipment in order to help pay for the Affordable Care Act
