         <description><![CDATA[<div>Fritz 22 months, caucasian male<br>Risk factors: mother is carrier of gene mutation that causes DMD<br>Presents as delayed development, weak muscles, disturbed gait, frequent falls, progressive muscle degenration<br>DMD is caused by an absence of dystrophin, a protein that helps keep muscle cells intact<br>Affects mostly males, most will not live past their early 20s<br>There is no cure, but physical therapy, occupational therapy, and medications, such as corticosteroids, can help control symptoms and improve quality of life.<br>Gene therapy and clinical trials are still being researched. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Metro Phoenix older adult population (55+)<br>Risk factor: Stroke Naive patients,&nbsp; Low income<br>Learning gap: community awareness of&nbsp; mobile stroke unit and improving long term outcomes&nbsp; vs conventional ER visit and time it takes to get a diagnosis and treatment<br>Teaching: community meeting/presentation on the Mobile stroke unit, teaching s/s of stroke using a personal mirror and having patient perform impression of stroke s/s on own face. Possible broucher with information on MSE.&nbsp;Patients should be able to recreate stroke s/s. - Further research will be needed to evaluate long term outcomes of MSE exposure of use of the system vs convential ER treatment in the greater Phoenix area. <br>Cultural component: Older adult population tends to shy away from medical care, how would MSE promote early, safe, financially responsible and private care.&nbsp;<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
