<title>My target audience consists of male and female young adults from the age of 16 to 18. I aim to attract to both genders but from questionnaires that I have done, my magazine will most likely have a female dominant reading which, stereotypically, would be the main reading gender. With a music genre, such as pop/dance and RnB, comes a female dominant scene and culture which I believe is important to maintain and challenge. For example, I wish to challenge it by implementing masculine details in my magazine but keeping it balanced with feminine details as well. The key thing to attract audiences is stereotypes. For example, a pop/dance magazine will always have bold people on the front cover with a bright colour scheme. Stereotypes allow people to quickly differentiate between what is or is not for them. When researching stereotypes, you soon find out what people within that certain stereotype like the most and I allowed this to influence how I dressed the artist on my front cover, contents page and double page spread. One of the key topic that people within the pop genre culture like is fashion and from this, came my inspiration to dress my model in The latest trends. For example, a trendy hairstyle, dark colours which is in trend at the moment, and a bomber jacket which is also of the latest fashion. This then attracts people into reading so that they could maybe gather inspiration or just browse the latest fashions</title>

<title>Colour Scheme. When attracting an audience, it is important you are using colours relative to that specific audience. For the pop/dance audience, I chose colours that are bright and bold. All colours have different meanings behind them and so that also helps with the overall vibe that the magazine portrays. All of the colours which I decided to pick are gender neutral colours allowing readers to know that it doesn&#39;t matter what their gender is, it&#39;s aimed at them.</title>

<title>Red is a colour which shows energy and passion. Both emotions and meanings represent the genre well and are suitable for a pop/dance magazine because the stereotype of the fans is that they are passionate and energetic when at a music gig and so to use red in my magazine, means it appeals my demographic. </title>

<title>Yellow as a colour represents the feeling of ecstasy and happiness which has always been a main feature in pop/dance culture due to the types of gigs and dj&#39;s involved. For example, most of the gigs are standing and involve a lot of positive emotions to get through.</title>

<title>Black and White highly contrast each other because black is usually used to represent ‘evil’ where as white is used to represent purity. These are the two main colours that are said to match everything and so they are the easiest colours to use in any magazine. </title>

<title>Language and Register- This is one of the most important features of your magazine because it attracts the target age of your audience. For example, I used short sentences which regularly ended with exclamation marks at the end to appeal to young adults. During the course of my front cover and contents page, it is mostly informal language and then in the double-page spread, it is a safe mix of both. This means that those reading don&#39;t have to be high intellectual it is fitting for everyone to read. I also used a mix of direct address and none. This allows the reader to get dragged into the article but not so much that it confuses them. </title>

<title>Features-On my front cover, I used the term &#39;exclusive&#39; to fully draw the readers attention to the person the magazine is featured on that week. This also suggests to the reader that the information within the article is unknown and has only ever been talked about in my magazine and showing that the reader will truly get what they paid for. </title>

<title>Genre Conventions-Having a clear image of what genre your magazine is is highly important to your target audience. For example, your target audience will be less likely to buy your magazine if they are not aware of the genre. Throughout my magazine, I used the same colour scheme and only changed it a little when it came to my double page spread. </title>

<title>Fonts-I used an array of fonts throughout my magazine. These included ones from DaFont.com and just general fonts from photoshop. I used fonts that i felt fit best for my magazine. The reason for picking them was because, not only are they aesthetically pleasing to look at, but they are also bold and legible, as well as said to help dyslexic people read easier which allows me to reach a wider target audience.</title>

<title>Layout-The use of layout shows the genre and the audience that it is appealing to. From this fact, I decided to have a mix between a crammed and organised layout. My front cover, for example, is quite crammed beside where my model is. This is to draw attention to the dominant image and dominant sell-line. This also allows it to be appealing to young adults whereas if it were messier, it&#39;d be younger teenagers. When it came to my contents page, everything was once again crammed until it came to the dominant image. However, in my double-page spread, it is a lot more organised to juxtapose the personality of the artist. During my magazine survey, I found out that the majority of people liked a bold and messy look but also liked organised, which lead me to create the layout that I did. </title>

<title>Prices-My magazine is at least 30 pages long whereas Q, one of my main inspirations, is about 60 pages. Q magazine retails for £2.50 and then when it includes stickers or extras that aren&#39;t posters, it goes up to £3.Following this rule, I decided to price my magazine at £1.99. I feel that this is a reasonable price for the amount of pages in my magazine along with the age of the target audience. Young adults don&#39;t particularly have a lot of money or disposable income due to the majority being students. Therefore i think it&#39;s reasonable to price it around there.</title>
