As the Egyptian people thought the Pharaohs were gods, when they died, they were wrapped with white things. We call those wrapped bodies mummies. The Egyptians made special places to keep them. Those places are known as pyramids that were built between 2,700 - 1,640 BC respectively. The Egyptians built at least 80 pyramids including the Giza pyramid. The pyramids were built beside the Nile River. Inside the pyramids were some mysterious tombs which contained treasures and mummies. The Egyptians made the mummies to prepare the pharaohs for the next world.
