         <description><![CDATA[<p>During the Progressive Era many problems against workers rights, for example one issue was that factories were hazards and their were oil and gas leaks. Another issue is that many workers developed long term health conditions from the unsanitary state of the factories</p>]]></description>

         <title>Workers Rights reformers in the US during the Progressive Era</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Many groups and people fought to give workers rights one of the many groups was the Knights of Labor. The Knights of Labor held meetings in secret and started rallies to end child labor, equal pay for men and women and for workers and employer to share ownership and profits. Another called AFL worked to gain higher wages and shorter hours as well as to improve working conditions. Samuel Gompers was also a reformer for this issue he organized the AFL.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>There were many solutions to improve workers rights for example, Franklin D. Roosevelt gave rise to new opportunities for labor in passing the Wagner Act of 1935, that blocked employers from interfering with Union activities. The Congress of Industrial Organizations passed the Adamson Act in 1916 which established the eight-hour workday for interstate railroad workers.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>There are many similarities with Workers Rights now and during the Progressive Era for example, we still have the issue of workplace health and safety issues in a large fraction of factories in the US. There were also some difference from now and then for example now workers experience violence based on their gender, during the Progressive Era workers only experience different wage amounts based on genders.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>During the Progressive Era groups and certain people held rallies in order to improve workers rights, and now we still have rallies to improve wages, working conditions and include people of different values for example, LGBTQ, people of color and victims of domestic violence.  </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>There were many similarities with solutions for Workers Rights during the Progressive Era and now for example, during the Progressive Era and now  both solved the problem for hours and pay of wages for workers. There were some different thoughts on some solutions for example, now we are finding solutions to ensure that workers get paid for their overtime hours. During the Progressive Era there was no overtime to worry about pay for those who worked extra hours.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Many groups and people fought to give workers better rights for example, The Center for Workers Rights group aims to empower workers by including immigrants, pregnant women, caregivers, people of color, victims of domestic violence and LGBTQ members to ensure they have a safe working conditions. The Faith of Justice Worker Center aims to improve wages benefits and working conditions for low wage workers. SWOP is a national grassroots social justice network that works to end violence and stigma within the sex trade. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>There are many solutions to improve workers rights for example, The Center for Workers Rights group identified key areas of support the areas were made to unite our community and repair confidence in workers power. The Fair Labor Standards Act was passed on April 26, 2024 to implement that every employee  receives the expected amount of wage and overtime payments. The Energy Employees Illness Compensation Program Act is a program that provides a payment of $150,00 for any medical injury caused on a worker during duty.</p>]]></description>
