2 things that differ from humans and animals are that animals have much less intellect than humans and humans are at the top of the food chain. Animals' brains are much smaller and are not able to do high level things that are necessary like communicating with humans. They also aren't able to do basic functions based on their body and size, the only one that has come close is the monkey. Also Humans have rule over all animals because we are able to easily over power them, especially with modern technology. A human's diet consists of a lot of animals.

The world of 1984 is a very technologically advanced setting, however it also depicts a very desolate, poverty stricken setting. Everyone is monitored heavily by the Thought police and “Big Brother”, the tyrannical leader in the book, is said to always be watching the citizens of Oceania.

 Unlike the other citizens of Oceania, Winston isn’t brainwashed by the tyrannical leader Big Brother and holds his own thoughts and opinions. He is able to reason due to the fact he can’t “doublethink”.  In the beginning of the book, Winston is depicted writing within a diary, “Down with Big Brother”. The diary is a perfect example of him showing his own  thoughts and emotions. For example, his hatred towards women--specifically the brown haired lady that he sees during the “Two Minute Hate”.
