Blonde hair can gain people's attention as they look like foreign people among Malaysians. Besides, peer pressure. Based on a publication on peer pressure by Parent Further, only 10 percent of teenagers surveyed had not been influenced by peer pressure. Thus, we can conclude that most of the teenagers are easily affected by their peers. In this case, they are influenced by their friends who have blonde hair. Furthermore, media influence such as hair colour advertisements. Magic Bullet Theory states that mass media has a direct, immediate and powerful effect on its audiences. With the continuous exposure to hair colour advertisements on TV, Internet and magazines, little wonder that Malaysians will colour their hair blonde. Last but not least, Malaysians want to follow the latest fashion trends and follow the celebrities they admire. According to a recent Newsweek poll, 77 percent of Americans believe that celebrities have a negative influence on young girls, especially in their appearance and attitudes. In a nutshell, do not colour your hair blonde just because others say blonde hair is beautiful. Being the way that you are is enough. It was a painful end. A mood of melancholy enveloped my room. My eyes welled up in tears. My lower lip trembled as I struggled to blink back the tears before they dripped on my cheeks. I experienced an emotional roller coaster. I was bitterly disappointed at the result of the game. I burst into tears when he apologized with his gloomy-faced and teary-eyed. Heartbreak for him because he lost in the final game considering that this was the last chance he had. The scores between him and Chen Long are really close which are 18-21 and 18-21. I knew he played under high pressure and he put the pride of Malaysia on his shoulder. As Madam Dee said “He does not have the “ong” (luck) to achieve the gold medal before his retirement.” “Haiz……” 

Fighter never dies, I saw his spirit in Rio de Janeiro Olympics. He had given his best and strived for every single point he could. Salute to Dato Leee Chong Wei and all Malaysia teams that have brought glory and unity to our country. Although they lost the champion but they won a whole nation.

I am excited because I will enjoy having steamboat later. At the same time, I feel guilty because I have not finished doing my reading log for "It Had To Be Murder" by Cornell Woolrich.

When I saw the title of this short story "It Had To Be Murder", I thought it would be a thriller story just like “The Tell-Tale Heart” that would give me a lot of suspense and tension. Cornell created vivid pictures in my mind as I went through the short story because it was written from Jeffries first person point of view just like “The Tell-Tale Heart”. Hence, I could explore Jeffries’s thoughts and was able to put myself in this story.

The short story reminds me a Chinese film, "Accident" which was acted by Louis Koo. The film is about a group specialises in killing their victims using elaborate schemes that mask the murders as if they were accidents. They perform secret surveillance on the victims before killing them.

The main idea about the short story is voyeurism. Jeffries is injured and confined to his apartment because his movements are strictly limited. He watches and spies his neighbours form his window to pass his time. For example, he observes their everyday routines and habits. I remember that I stalked my opponents of debate competition in social media such as Facebook, We Chat and Instagram to know their progress of their preparation, their strengths and weaknesses so that my team can win in the competition.

Jeffries is attentive that he could notice one of his neighbours behaving strangely. Jeffries notices him packing up his wife’s clothes and then discovers that his wife is no longer in the apartment. Thus, he believes that his neighbour has murdered his wife. He is wise that he could jump to conclusions from his observations and he is determined to prove his conclusion by investigating the murder on himself with the help of his housekeeper, Sam to uncover the mystery. 

This story also arises the issue of neighbour interaction. This is because people seldom interact with their neighbours who live next door. How well do you really know each other and what are our responsibilities towards our neighbours? Although I have been living in my neighbourhood for almost 18 years, I do not really know my neighbours. I just say "hi!" to them when I meet them.

In a nutshell, I enjoyed reading this short story. However, this short story is not as interesting as “The Tell-Tale Heart”.
