Eventually, I spent a long time on both task, stressing my self and I'm still not too satisfied when I completed it so I wrote an email to my teachers for both tasks before submitting it and ask for feedback. With the feedback I get to know my mistakes and get to edit my essay before submission. The hardest part for me is the research as I can’t differentiate which source is reliable yet. As the references can't be blogs or wikipedia but reliable sources,  so I should really get off the internet and go the library for reaserch more often. 
The result for both task remains at the B grade. Although The grade drop from B1 to B2 but then I’ve improved in certain criterias so I still consider that I have improved. I remain the same grade for Task fulfilment. I got worse in my essay structure by falling from A1 to B4 so I should focus on my mistake and improve on it but then I’ve improved inmy Language from C1 to B3 so I continue to improve on it and not to failed myself easily. As stated in my feedback, I still have problems on my grammar, my phrasal verbs which makes the essay less academic. Also, I need to use stronger vocabulary to boost my language, prevent using pronouns and especially reduce using informal expressions.By doing this, I could improve in writing essays and not just academic English essay but also includes research project essay which also lead to the reports that I need to write in the future.

Although I didn't reach the word limit but least the content is there. At first I thought it's an essay that is similar to the essay we write for Academic english. However, after the first submission I realized that I misunderstood the whole thing. At first, I stated all the problems that is happening in the graphic design industry but it doesn't argue anything and the resources I use are not good reliable sources and are mostly blogs. After my first tutorial with Sally, I restart the whole thing once again and sent it to her for feedback. However, I still doesn't meet the requirements so I got more lost. I didn't stop trying but at the same time I don't know what am I doing. When we first came back from winter break we had a presentation on our project, Trelawny immediately pointed out my problem and had a tutorial with me. He helped me with my new topic guided me on how to research for my information and always kept track on me. I finally get the idea and knew that my essay should talk about an argument. Before the submission I had a tutorial with Heather, she suggested me to change a topic that is easier for me to write as the topic I chose before is about general facts which talks about freelancing and work in office. She helped me to talk to Jolene to come up with a topic for me to write. There's only two weeks left before the draft submission when I got the new topic, so I went to the library whenever I'm free and work on it everyday for half an hour. It helps a lot as I won't stress myself too much on this assignment. After a week, I received my feedback on my draft research project. Overall my content is there just that I need to add more information to support my points.Other than that I need to work on my language on the topic sentence to make the essay more academic. By looking at the table, my grades on the use of source brings my grades down alot.In which I need to research for more academic resources to bring up my grades for my essay. To sum up, I need to make slight changes on my essay before the final submission. Heather ]]> 2022-03-09 16:58:59 UTC https://padlet.com/rocksangeline/yut7z9fcv06l9kbb/wish/2086508807 Reflection Journal 5 IFP experience rocksangeline https://padlet.com/rocksangeline/yut7z9fcv06l9kbb/wish/2120392718 In these few months of studying in this IFP programme, I've enjoyed the whole and get the chance to understand myself and develop more skills.  Also, I get to know people from all around the world such as Russia, Nigeria and Morocco. However, I do wish the course to have more asian specifically people who speak mandarin as it would allow me to talk in my native language but  I had the advantage to  practice my english speaking skills without relying on my native language. Studying in a new country that I'm unfamiliar with is a challenging yet exciting experience. At first I struggled for both education and daily life. For education, the teaching system is completely different from my country by comparison. In UK, the teachers would provide us freedom by allowing us to have self reflections and to do all our research by our own. However, I never did any citations or references before, luckily we have the referencing guide which helped a lot.  For my portfolio, I get to experience different workshops, develop new skills and gain different experience such as having my own exhibition, exploring different galleries, getting inspired by the best works. Although it's still in progression, but I'm still excited for it and will work as hard as I could to achieve the ideal result. Other than that, I also face other problems such as, communication between group members during group projects, SOL breakdown, opening a bank account, late submissions etc. Another point I want to mention is time management. I'm personally not a punctual person so it's hard for me to manage my time. I develop a system to focus on my work for a certain amount of time everyday and to avoid myself from stressing. However, I'm still working on my sleeping schedule to avoid lateness. Hopefully, I could find a way to solve it someday.When I was facing problems, I really panicked so my advice to the students that are thinking of studying overseas is to seek for help immediately to avoid struggling alone. Also, I've  challenge myself and elect myself to join the Student Representative. I never really wanted myself to be responsible for anything so this is a big step for me. In every meeting, we tried to come up with different ideas for all the students in the IFP programme to bond with each other. Although some plans had failed but we managed to have a game night and bond with each other. I personally enjoyed the games and had a great time.  Despite my education, it's also hard for me to settle down. Luckily, I have my mum to guide me at first. She helped me to  get all the equipments I need, telling me which place is the best to get my groceries and etc. By living alone, I need to cook by myself. I believe it's not the healthiest meals but at least I never skip a meal. Also, I'm an introvert so I don't dare to greet my flatmates on my first day. I'm grateful that they were all welcoming and friendly. One thing that I'm most grateful about is that there's not stealing among us. We didn't really hang out much but I never feel left out and I'm comfortable to live with them. Although  the kitchen were really messy sometimes but it's clean imagined and I'm already used to it so I'm fine. Lastly, with the knowledge I gain in the IFP, I believe that I would be confident enough while I'm studying for my first year. Hopefully, I will be more successful in the next few years studying here in solent.
