For this section I also chose the, Tempo Libero in USA e in Italia assignment. In order to complete the assignment, I viewed an info graphic detailing Italian day to day statistics as well as American day to day statistics. I detailed the differences in Italian sports, shows and social media usage. I was shocked to learn how differently Americans and Italians spend their time watching television, playing sports and by being on social media. This assignment is an example of a cultural competence assignment because looking the differences between the social and free time statistics of the two cultures allows for me to understand more about a group of people who have different backgrounds than me.

The University of Modena and Reggio Emillia is located in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. Emilia-Romagna is located in the northern central part of Italy and the University was founded in 1175 CE. This makes the University one if the oldest in the country. This university has been de-established and re-established many times since its founding, mainly due to Money issues. Around 22,000 students attend regularly per year. Similar to school in the US, the University of Modena and Reggio Emillia is divided into 14 colleges/ departments. The university offers many science and technology course. The one that interested me the most is the Dipartimento Chirurgico , which is the surgical department.

For the assignment that fits in the interpretive communication category I chose Le più antiche università del mondo. In order to complete this assignment, I visited the website for one of the oldest universities in Italy. I chose University of Modena and Reggio Emillia. I wrote a summary of how the university was founded, and I described a few of the courses that are featured at the university. By describing the university and doing research I learned that Universities in Italy have been around much longer that most universities in the United States. By doing this project I was able to make commentary about a topic that I previously had little knowledge of. This assignment helped to improve my interpretive communication skills and overall expanded my knowledge of the Italian culture.

Ciao! Mi chiamo Rebecca Smith è sono al primo anno a Kennesaw State University. Studio musica a Kennesaw. Studio anche lingua è cultura Italiana. Studio Italiano perchè canto tanto in Italiano. Canto le canzoni in Italiana, è Se tu Mami, Se Sospiri, è Gia il sole dal Gange, è Sebben Crudele, è Per La gloria D'adorarvi. Non ci sono mai stata in Italia. Voglio andare a Italia dopo l’università. Voglio vedere cattedrali è assaggiare il cibo. Voglio viaggiare in italia non studiare. In classe italiana studiamo nomi di classe, cibo, la differenza di buono e bello, articoli, verbi irregolari, verbi regolari e verbi riflessivi. Trovo difficile la grammatica quando studio Italiano. Mi piache studiare il cibo è università. Devo prendere un anno distanza da mio studia di Italiano perchè devo un corso di psicologia. Voglio imparare di più la lingua è cultura Italiana da solo.
