There is a University called Széchényi István University. There are many types of vocation training at the university such as Apáczai Csere János faculty, Deák Ferenc State Science and Jurisprudence faculty, Healthy and Sport Science faculty, and there are still many opportunities for students.

We find lots of high schools in Győr. Exactly 30. There are also grammar schools and secondary schools, for example: grammar schools (out of 4): Péterfy Sándor, Révai Miklós grammar schools. There are many secondary schools, too. For example: Lukács Sándor and Bercsényi Miklós secondary schools.

There are many primary schools, exactly 29. Such as Kölcsey Ferenc, Kovács Margit or Gárdonyi Géza primary schools.

If you want to learn music or instruments you find music schools, such as Liszt Ferenc or Harmonia music schools. If you want to do more seriously, you can choose Richter János Secondary School of Music.

There are sports schools, dance schools, fine arts education centers. And there are many opportunities to get as much knowledge as possible.

The city hall is located in the city center next to Baross Bridge. If we walk a little further on Baross Street we can see a lot of things. In the Szechenyi Square we can see the Benedictie Church and the Pálffy restaurant. Next to this square we find the Dunakapu Square where organising a lot of concerts and festivals. The Szechenyi Square other side is the National Theather in Győr. If we in the Dunakapu Square we can walk to the chapter hill.
There are many churches in Győr. For example Carmelite Church,Episcopal Cathedral,Saint László Herma.
There is a thermal bath the Rába Quelle Bath. A little further away from the center there is the zoo called János Xantus Zoo. The first large settlement dates back to the 5th century BC.
They called the town Ara Bona which means Good altar". Later they contracted to Arrabona, a name which was used untill the 8th century. Roman merchants moved to Arrabona during the first century BC., than the Roman army occupied the northern part of Western Hungary, which they called Pannónia. Győr, or the old name of its Arrabona was settled also by Slavs, Lombards, Avars and at that time under Frankish and Slavik influence. The Hungarians came to the town around 900 and fortified the abadoned Roman fortress Kristóf Lamberg, Győr's commander tought it would be fertile to try to defend the town from the Turkish army. He burned down the town, so the Turkish forces found nothing, but burned down buildings. During the rebuilding, the town was sorrounded with a castle and a city wall, designed by the leading Italian builders of the era. During the follow centuries the town became prosperous. In 1743 Győr was elevated to Free Royal Town status by Mária Terézia. The religious orders of Jesuits, and Carmelites settled there, building schools, churches, a hospital and a monastery. In the 1950s several big blocks of flats were built, but the old historical buildings were not given care or attention sadly. In the years of 70s the reconstruction of the city cetre began. Old buildings were restored and reconstructed. In 1989 Győr won the European Award of Monuments Protection.

For example: museums, churches, theater, cinema.
The theater in Győr present lot's of performance with great actors. This director is Forgács Péter since 2011. Famous actors are Nagy Balázs, Kiss Tünde, Fehér Ákos and Járai Máté. This weeks the visitors can see the Abigél which has been great success.
So many kinds of museums can we visit, for example Esterházy palace, Museums of Town Art, Baby exhibition.
The cinema in Győr is always shows recent movies. Now playing the last part of Avengers that many people like.
Győr has got some of very beautiful churches. The Charmelita church is the most famous. It was built between 1721 and 1725. Many wedding ceremony is organised in this building every weekend. Chatedral Basilica of the Assumption of our Lady is a chatolic temple which had been destroyed in 11th century and rebuilt from the 13 to the 15 century.

Here was organised the 2017 Summer Olympics European Youth Festival. In the city of rivers had a very busy life in the past. Based on the Danube, there were founded boating houses and clubs. The university hall was built, the ice rink was covered, and a launching tower for canoeing was built. Recently the city was noticed as it organized sucsessfully sport tournaments.

For example If you don't have time and you want to eat fast there is some fast food restaurants. McDonald's, KFC, Burger King, Istambulda.... But If you want to eat your lunch in ordinary restaurant you can do it in Új Zöldfa Étterem, Pálffy Étterem, John Bull Pub. There are very delicious meals with a beatiful view.
There are many beautiful hotels in Győr. But not all of them are as good as the Baroque Hotel Promenade or the Hotel Capitulum. These two hotels are mostly visited in the city. Every room in the Baroque Hotel has been named a celebrity.
The 103 room Eto Park Hotel was the first hotel for sportsmen, but later it was accessible to all people. But besides these, there are nice and better hotels in the city.
In Győr, a lot of hotels have come to a positive assessment, thanks to the kind staff and the cleanliness. Most of the hotels offer free WiFi, sauna, pool, Led TV, safe, air conditioning, minibar and buffet.
In the most expensive hotels the average amount for 1 person and 1 night is 126 €, which is about 40.000 HUF.
