         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Magna Carta- a document constituting a fundamental guarantee of rights and privileges; Limited power of King; signed in 1215<br>2. English Bill of Rights- protected the rights of English citizens and became the basis for the U.S. Bill of Rights.<br>3. Rule of Law- the restriction of the arbitrary exercise of power by subordinating it to well-defined and established laws.<br>4. Stamp Act-1765; law that taxed printed goods, including: playing cards, documents, newspapers, etc<br>5. Tea Act-1773 act which eliminated import tariffs on tea entering England and allowed the British East India Company to sell directly to consumers rather than through merchants.
