The victim testified that her attacker had a short hair cut and a clean shave. However, Perrot had long hair, a mustache, and a goatee beard. FBI agent named Wayne Oaks, described himself as an expert in hair when he took the witness stand.

Outcome

Wayne Oaks was able to convince the courtroom that the single strand of hair was enough to incarcerate Perrot. He used his experience in accurate hair analysis to prove his ideas true. George Perrot has now been in jail for almost 30 years.

While many people argue that his case evidence has now been proven scientifically invalid, George is still serving his sentence. There is a hearing scheduled for this summer but the Commonwealth of Massachusetts opposes a retrial.
