Internal conflict

Aelins main internal conflict is when she found out that for the darkness to be sent back the gods would use her life to forge a lock to take them home, and the darkness with them. Aelin has a hard time deciding what to do with her life. She keeps trying to find ways to forge the lock without dying, but she soon learns that she was born to die to forge the lock. She stills struggles inside about what to do keeping her feelings inside. I believe Mass did this to mold Aelin into a true queen. To get her to understand that leaders have to give the most for there people, and there futures even if that means not giving yourself a future.

Maeve. Maeve is over thousands of years of age. She has learned much, and refuses to change because of the knowledge she possess. She believes that all her plans are right even though no one else believes in them. Maeve has only ever briefly changed once, and that ended very quickly when the man would not give her what she needed to succeed. I believe Mass did this so there would always be someone in the way. Without Maeve Aelin, and others lives would have been much similar, and there would be a different leader.

In Queen of shadows there is at least three big climaxes. The one I believe is the best is when Maeve's fleet attacks Aelin's fleet, and an all out small war starts. Maeve's fae warriors are supposed to win, but Aelins side is making them run for there money. Aelins side begins to fully win when Rowans allies turn on Maeve. I believe Mass did this to give Aelin a fighting chance in the war to come. Mass did this so the final war in the future would give Aelins side a fighting chance.

Mainly he becomes a better person, realizes what love, and friendship are, and much more. If Rowan hadn't changed he would still serve Maeve.

Aelin Ashvyer Galyinthus also formally know as Celena Sardothien. The future queen of Terressean. Aelin parents were killed when she was young when they died her parents court fell. They Arboynn Hamel took her in, and she became the Adrlans Assassin. Aelin is a tough, independent women. She has a hard time forming relationships. Aelin is mean, sassy when you first meet her, but once you get to know her as a friend Aelin is so nice, and will do anything to protect you. I believe Mass made Aelin like this because if she had an easy life she would be nice, and wouldn't have the backbone to be the future queen, but she made her the way she did so she can make the tough decisions she has, and will have to make in order for her court to work.

The setting of Queen of Shadows is in medieval times. I know this because the main ways of transportation are carriage, or boat. I also know this is medieval times by the way people talk, and dress. Most of the girls, women wear dresses while the men, boys wear tunics, and pants. They talk with words that Shakespeare would use in his plays. I believe Mass chose this era because of were stories orinated. Like when stories of witches, and magical powers existed, and were most popular. Most medieval stories have castle carriages, bows, knives, Witches, powers, princesses.

The narrator changes between each chapter. One is the protagonist then it will switch to a different antagonist. There is around six antagonist that you read from. I believe Mass did this to keep people on the edge of there seats. She also causes the protagonist to decide if the thirteen will help her fight in the war. Mannon is on the opposing side of the war causing the protagonist to change her battle plans.
