During this time you could do anything to he accused as a witch such as, not having children, doing “manly things” having a birthmark or facial hair or mole, being left handed, ect.) In trial it was either guilty until proven innocent and most of the test to be proven innocent ended up in death. Until The mayor’s wife got accused of being a witch so the maybe decided that they were taking things way out of proportion realizing none of those people were witches and the town was just paranoid, so the people who were in jail for being a witch got free and the ones who died, their family got things and they were known but the people who accused got to live their lives with no consequences.

Mrs. Druse murdered her husband, William Druse, in their home in Warren, New York. The murder unfolded with the help of her son and daughter, George and Mary Druse, and nephew Frank Gates. The family members were threatened with death if they refused and all had an involvement with the murder case. Druse claimed that her motive was that her husband was abusive to her and was not supporting the family because he had left for a number of days after an argument. Frank Gates and George Druse were later released due to their lack of involvement in the murder. During the trial, Mary Druse admitted to assisting in the murder, and was sentenced to life at the Onondaga Country penitentiary. On October 6, 1885 Roxalana was sentenced to be hanged on November 25, 1885, but after several changes she was set to die in the electric chair on February 28, 1887.

is recognized as a heroine of the American Revolutionary War; the accuracy of these accounts is questioned by modern scholars. On April 26, 1777, the 16-year-old daughter of a colonel in the Colonial militia, Henry Ludington, is said to have made an all-night horseback ride 40 miles (64 km) to rally militia forces in neighboring towns after the burning of Danbury, Connecticut by British forces.Relatively unknown through the 1870s, Ludington became widely recognized around the time of World War II, after historic roadmarkers were placed in locations she was speculated to have visited on her ride. Memorial statues honor her, and books have been written about her. She was honored on a United States Bicentennial postage stamp that was released on March 25, 1975, which depicts her on a horse.
