Faber is somewhat too aware of the consequences of things, and is also helpful to Montag when Montag brings up the topic about books. For example, on page 71 paragraph , it states "Faber peered out, looking very old in the light and very fragile and very much afraid."
Another example, is on page 74, it states, " This book has pores. It has features. This book can go under the microscope. You'll find life under the glass, streaming past an infinite profusion." Fabers purpose in the novel is to help Montag get Beatty to change his mind about books, and to help Montag make more copies of the books before there isn't anymore.

Isn't this a nice time of night to walk? I like to smell things and look at things, and sometimes stay up all night, walking and watch the sun rise." "I sometimes think that drivers don't know what grass is, or flowers, because they never see them slowly." Relating to a real life quote by Oscar Levant " There is a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line." This relates to Clarisse because of how she isn't bound to the rules her society makes others feel chained up, but is

Mildred - arianna, christine, alexine

Mildred is very oblivious and doesn't care about anything that has to do with change, and it seems as if she only cares about one thing. Mildred just wants to live the same boring life. In page 39 in the 4th paragraph, Montag asks Mildred if she remembered where and how they met, but she doesn't. Which shows that she doesn't have a good attention span because she doesn't remember where they met. In page 62, paragraph 7, it states " Mildred sat across the hall from him. What does it mean? It doesn't mean anything! The captain was right!" this shows how after listening to Montag read, she refuses to try to understand the book because she fears that it can create chaos within society if any kind of change occurs. A character that represents the opposite of MIldred would be Clarisse. We chose Clarisse because she views life differently and doesn't live it the same as everyone else in the society. Instead she acts different from everyone and isn't afraid of change.
