I believe I heard that before ventilators pumped regular air into the lungs of patients that couldn't breathe on their own, the ventilators pumped pure O2. If this is true, this either means that this was too harmful or too expensive.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The way many bird's wings (and the wings of airplanes) work is the shape makes the air pressure under the wing greater than above the wing, keeping the bird in the air without them having to flap constantly like hummingbirds. So if a bird glides they are probably just staying in the air while conserving energy. I am very, very sure that they have lungs unlike the tracheal system in insects, so movement might not relate as much to their breathing.</div>]]></description>
