The Palace Garden

The garden is where America ran on her first night being at the palace. She was confused and not allowed to go outside but luckily Maxton allowed her to and this is where she first met the prince.

The Dining room

This is the palace dining room where the girls eat meals with the royal family. It is also where the girls stayed during the invasion by the rebels.

The author believes that people aren't always like what you think they'll be like. In The Selection America thinks that Maxon the prince will be stuck up and rude based on what she has made up in her head. When she gets to the palace her assumption leads her to yelling at the prince when they first meet. America realizes she likes Maxon much more than she thought she would. By the end of the book she wants to stay in the selection and possibly end up with Maxon. While she is still not sure who she is going to pick America knows that Maxon is not who she thought he would be, some adjective she described him by in her interview was sensible, and kind.

Quote 1- American yelling at Aspen

"You idiot!' I whisper-yelled at him. 'I hate him! I love you! I wanted you; all I ever wanted was you!"

This is when America yelled at Aspen after he apologized for breaking up with her. America fully confessed to Aspen that she wanted him but this was before she met the prince and things changed.

I really like this book, I thought it had a lot of aspects that made books good such as romance and drama. It also had the dystopian setting with the rebel attacks.

This is where America is giving in and telling Maxon that she knows there is something there. She is still not completely sure how she feels about everything but she is willing to give it a try.

I'm Abigail and I thought your book was really good. It was one of my favorite things I read this year. I really liked how you brought a clear dystopian setting with the rebels and poorer country. I like the conflict between America, Aspen, and Maxon. I think the ending was REALLY good. I loved how it left off with an ending that gave some satisfaction but it also has the suspense of who America is going to pick.
