Joana d'Arc was a peasant woman who had a relevant participation in the Hundred Years' War, leading Carlos VII's troops in important conquests. Captured by the English, she was tried and sentenced to death at the stake for witchcraft, being executed at the age of 19. In the 20th century, his image was rehabilitated and today he is one of the great names in French history.
Currently, the village where she was born is called Domrémy-la-Pucelle, as a way of honoring her, since pucelle means “maiden” and one of the ways in which she became known was “Maiden of Orleans”. The day of Joana's birth is the subject of debate and many believe it was on January 6.

Joana d'Arc was a peasant and daughter of Jacques d’Arc and Isabelle Romée. Her parents owned a small land on which to make a living, and Jacques was still serving as a local tax collector. Joana d'Arc was the youngest daughter of the couple, who in all had five children. Its creation was very catholic.
 
Another mystery that involves Joan of Arc’s meeting with the French king was how she managed to convince Charles VII to give everything she needed: men, weapons, armor and the command of the troops. Thus, Joana d'Arc actively participated in the Hundred Years' War, but among historians there is some controversy about the degree of her involvement.

Many historians disbelieve that she fought on the battlefield. According to them, she only fulfilled roles that involved assembling the strategy and preparing the troops, as well as motivating the soldiers. Despite this, Joana d'Arc was instrumental in two significant victories for France: in Orleans and in Reims.

Reims, in fact, was the place where traditionally French monarchs were crowned. The conquest of that city allowed the coronation of Carlos VII, on July 17, 1429. Despite the expressive victories, Joan of Arc also experienced defeats, as was the case with the failed siege of Paris, still in 1429.
