It is a great snack in between meals and can also be a filling breakfast in a larger portion.

I lived less than 10 minutes from Lake Erie, and we have always owned a boat that we would fish on. We would have friends over for fish fries made with the fish we caught. Also growing up Catholic, fish fries, that consisted of fresh caught perch and walleye, were a lenten Friday staple. It is expertly paired with French fries and tartar sauce. My family and I always try to travel to different churches and restaurants during lent to try their fried fish. I love having sandwiches the next day with the leftovers.

The recipe is fairly simple, and can be made with any type of pasta, but penne is my favorite. It uses tomato paste, heavy whipping cream, onion, garlic, fresh basil, and vodka (the alcohol gets burned off). It's easy to make and delicious, but the main reason it's my favorite is because I always make it with my boyfriend. It's the first meal we ever cooked together, and anytime we order at a restaurant we end up thinking our version is much, much better.
