I watch a lot of TED talks and find I am most engaged when the presentation is-

Passionate and engaging
un complicated language
has a clear structure
links points and ideas
has some, but not too much, visual aids
confident and well rehearsed
Has thought provoking ideas (makes the listener question their own beliefs and opinions)
