We always provide a sentence stem and/or sentence frame to help the pupils express their ideas. This has to be modeled, repeated, and become a routine for gradual release or until they can write on their own. As they share story problems, they can use the same by adding illustrations, before filling out the number sentence.

The use of vocabulary using Frayers model can help them visualize the term even more, what the examples are and non-examples.
