Different immigrants will face different challenges, stereotypes, and problems. It also covers the main challenges that English Language Learners face related to English literacy acquisition. Then it discusses the methods that could help students from immigrant families with English literacy development. Lastly, it gives a comparison of how culture affects ELL outcomes, cultural differences in parental knowledge and education, and socioeconomic issues. <br>Evaluation:<br>I chose this resource because it gives a different perspective on immigrant ELL students. It goes in depth about stereotypes leading to challenges of immigrants and It talks about literacy, culture, and schooling, and how it differs from in specific China and the middle east verses the United States. They go over the cultural values, student literacy and life ways, and minority school failure due to improper procedures. It describes the different educational systems which provide a great amount of culture shock by ELL students. It also reviews the reasons why families want to move from their previous country. Lastly, it gives a rundown of problems that ELL students face and give teaching methods for immigrant students and discusses the socioeconomic factors and school performances. <br>Reflection:<br>I would use and or recommend this article to someone because it gives specific examples of what an ELL student faces and why they face them. It also provides background knowledge of what an ELL student faces and why they may face these problems due to their previous culture while adapting to a new culture. Also, it helps people understand the challenges of immigrant students and also helps students from different types of families with literacy acquisition. This article also gives multiple solutions for helping ELL students and even teachers. Lastly, it reviews the importance of the school education because the immigrants rely heavily on that as the students may have minimal parental support at home. <br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
