1. the run up
- ensure a proper run-up of about 9-13 steps landing with your most powerful leg
- try not to loose momentum when reaching the end or the track
2. take off
- during take off keep eyes up looking far
- start swinging arms in a circular motion 
- drive non take off knee upwards towards chest
forwards
3. in flight
- keep looking forwards 
- tuck in both knees into chest 
4.  landing 
-when landing ensure land with both feet 
-try to put both arms out to ensure balance
