• Warm up push hands connecting concentration exercise in 3s with eyes open and eyes closed separate occasions Felt I worked well with ronan and will today on this and trusted them through physical movement but need to be more Spaceially aware
• Talked of importance of contact and communication
• Then learning to fly exercise I’ve learned that we did it gradually and took people out who wasn’t needed. Focus on having to go up as you go into it. I feel I went for it and took risks but need to remember to close my legs while in the air.
• jet packs lift I feel I am light so I had energy to push up from the ground with people supporting me felt I had good communication.
•Then finally we did the lifts at the end of the lesson where I lean on someone and I felt that I did good at leaning on Robyn but need to remember to swing that leg around after I lean as I tend to stay there to long.
My targets for next lesson is to remember to close my legs in the air and to swing my leg around on the lift to get back into first position I also need to remember to have more spacial awarness in movement sections
Rating 7/10 .

We watched Kae tempest rapping a song called “peoples faces” which was related to our next task. Here is the link- https://youtu.be/mvCKSuPq8o8
Reading chorus 2 a play from kae tempest
Words/ideas from the script that we used the script is above
Risk
Change
Temptation
Routine/repetition
Life
Hope
Regret
Felt I did good at contributing to ideas.
• Made a sign language piece on some of these words in groups of 4. Felt I contributed with 2 movements of hope and change that went well together. “Tear drop” music ,choral effect, filmed and watched back I also feel I could of added bigger movements to our piece and struggled remembering them after a few times.
• Changed the sequence of how we lay our piece with us all having different levels and starting at different times (cannon) filmed and watched back. Felt in this part I remembered things better as I went through it more but as I turned to the back after the second repeat of the moves I lost the focus and got lost so my targets are to remain focused through whole performance and to go through things better.
Rating 8/10

I showed good chemistry on stage and remained focused. My weakness was us not getting it up on its feat sooner as we could of polished the lines and have a exact time in the music when we say them.
Physical theatre Frantic assembly

First we listed a frantic assembly technique

•First person instruction- creating a theme or idea which is abstractly based on the piece your doing also putting them into first person and past tense. This will give a new meaning and new life which can be interesting to explore. For example

“ I cut a ring around the leg of the rabbit”
• My example of this technique
I always fancied getting a fake id. I scanned the front of the ID card. I used someone else’s that look similar to me. I then scanned the back of the ID card to ensure that the back of the barcode on the back will match the id on the front. I then went to edit the image on an editing program like photoshop. I then pasted a new photo over the current one because I scanned someone else’s. I identified the the font used in the id by searching online and comparing to change my idea.

•We then discussed other techniques like-
Duologue -

When working with a duologue improvisation or scripted , there can be a focus on expressing the sub-text physically. This can take a range of forms

A pair perform a duologue naturalistically while others are doing physical movements

Performing lists/Definitions

Frantic assembly commonly use lists within their work which can be coupled with movement. sometimes this is generated from the performers( a list of their favourite places).
•My lost below includes

what started religion

Why people believe in certain things

As well as being acts of social unity, even more formal rituals also alter brain chemistry.

We then moved on to free writing techniques
Were the person writes something from a word given we did one that was structured and then one that was a more free writing technique were I write whatever comes to mind I’m anyway fashion I write it down so this technique is less structured.

Structure- jealousy is a big thing in this world I try and not get jealousy because jealousy can turn into bitterness and can make a bad side of you come out. I can’t remember the last time I was jealous but if I had to think it would be sometime over 3 years ago. And it was probably during the time of my gcse where people were getting better marks than me in they’re mock exams when I have been revising

Non structured version-Yum cheesecake funnely enough last night I had cheese cake not the triangle one the big circle ones and I had it all to myself because I’m trying to put weight on lmao.

Got told penuts are good for that? Maybe I’ll give them a try. Everything is so much effort now like everything just feels like a chore I can never rest there’s constantly something needing to be done. Also why is cheese cake called cheese if it doesn’t taste like it.
• Then we went into our groups and discussed more ideas of our pieces and my group decided not to go with the original song idea but to go with a theme of men and women stereotypes.

My strengths this lesson was coming up with the idea of stereotypes I feel I also did well at writing the non structured version of the word “cheesecake” I feel I just went with it and added character to myself when I read it out.

My weakness today was my focus and understanding of some of the tasks I feel in the first person instruction I could of worded things differently and made it more less of a instruction list. I also struggled making the list of the religious things I wish I thought more simply but instead I was overthinking it.

My targets for next lesson is to come with something to add to my group piece and to get it up on its feet. I also want to commit to being more focused in the lessons.
Rating 5/10

I could of practiced more. I feel I did well at helping my group on what genres of stereotypes we could do e.g how men have more power in jobs or with certain clothings considered man or woman. I would of liked to have had something up on its feet today but next lesson I would like to get a start to it and make the first part with potential song ideas.
Rating 5/10

I feel I was productive and showed good understanding of our plot.

My weakness today was not being able to add more and not structuring things in order as I feel at the minute things are abit all over the place.

My targets are to work on structure for our piece amd to figure out a order.

Todays lesson we started off with some notes from last week’s rehearsal of the pieces we made.

Notes for other group
Interwined movements
A better transition of going to the girl stereotype

Our piece
Make it less cheesy in the face
Moves are interesting
Second lift wasn’t needed
Could be more movements while others are on stage instead of people waiting to go on.

Then we moved on to work in our groups and tried adding the feedback. We found it hard due to there being 1 absence and there’s only 4 of us in the group. But added more frantic assembly movements. We also added a line in from the poem at the end when we go back into the raven sequence and we all say in unison “And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting”

My strengths this lesson was working with what we had. We used more story movements by showing our arms to display the self harm.

My weakness was not using a chain of movements and looping them we also struggled having loads of stuff going on during the performance on stage because there was only 3 of us and also not having strong arms on the raven.

My targets are to work on this with oran and Lewis and see what ideas we can combine. I would like to clean up the movements and make them loop and combine more.

Todays lesson it was our first lesson in awhile. Me and the boys went through our piece and we restarted as our raven piece wasn’t working.

•My strengths this lesson were

Coming up with the cannon idea of people coming on and then copying others movements.

•Having energy and commitment to the piece

•We made nearly 2 mins of choreographed movements already

•I utilised the space.

My weakness was not being so productive in the other group of the doll house. We taught Will Lewis’s movements but nothing other than that. My targets are to keep working on the boys scene and see if we can carry on choreographing up to 5 mins of work and to see if we can work on the doll house scene with the changes.

Rating 8/10

I want to be more focused and work on the boys piece throughout the week.

Rating 7/10
