Writing to our friends, family and instructor

With your friends it would be more casual language and with your parents it would be more formal, you would not text them to tell them you would do it in person. If telling your instructor, it would be in an email it would be formal and concise - not much slang used.

Our purpose for writing would be to accept it and support it, shouldn't be negative.

For friends short with simple phrases and maybe more fun details. Parents would need an explanation with a story behind it.While telling our instructor the language would be a bit more formal, with full sentences, correct punctuation and good grammar.

Writing to inform the people around us and update them on our lives. We hope to gain their support and approval.

In chapter six, I learned that genre can describe more than just the reading/texts category. But can also be useful in social scenarios. Though the main use for the term genre is typically used in an educational context, I now know it can be used in a real world context. There are different groups of genres we use in our everyday life that we probably did not relate fell into a “genre”.

1.writers identities or roles change depending on the target community they are reaching out to because they have a job to hook their audience. They change their tone and the way they must deliver information to the reader. Just as you change your tone when you talk to certain people, authors and writers must do the same. For example you do not speak to a teacher the same way you speak to your friends. It would seem like a foreign language and would not be effective for the community they are reaching out to.

2. These roles influence the style in their writing because the style is effected by the audience. As the writer, you must know what communities your trying to reach out to. There for your writing is going to be influenced on those factors.

3. The best way for me to understand different styles is to try to really understand the audience. Like putting myself in their shoes and thinking about what I would want to read.
