1. informed consent: permission granted in full knowledge of the possible consequences, typically that which is given by a patient to a doctor for treatment with knowledge of the possible risks and benefits.
2. Privacy: Privacy is the fact of being alone so that you can do things without being seen or disturbed. You can do these exercises in the privacy of your own home.
3. coercion: The intimidation of a victim to compel the individual to do some act against his or her will by the use of psychological pressure, physical force, or threats.
4. sensitive topics: A sensitive subject or issue needs to be dealt with carefully because it is likely to cause disagreement or make people angry or upset.
5. Storing data: Most data that researchers collect will be sensitive as it will contain confidential details about people and/or organizations. It is important to devise a storage system that is safe and only accessible to the research team. If it is necessary to transmit data (email, post, telephone), the method of transmission should be secure.
6. Deception: Involves withholding information from or giving false information to participants about the hypothesis or methods of a research project. Deception is the intentional misleading of subjects or the withholding of full information about the nature of the experiment. Investigators may mislead or omit information about the purpose of the research, the role of the researcher, or what procedures in the study are actually experimental.
