Very intricate details and explanations about how your students have been practicing using context clues to create their own understanding of the vocabulary words. Context clues are a great way to give the students autonomy when reading so they can build their vocabulary knowledge. It is very useful to teach it and then use it in practice. The acronym "I.D.E.A.S." is a great tool for the students to determine how to use the context clues (inference, definition, example, antonym, synonym). - Seinfeld

Really great to see how mapping can be modified in so many different ways to meet students wherever they are at. Also really great to see all of the student work. Wonderful presentation!

The use of semantic maps is so user-friendly and allows students to expand on ideas. The ability to also use it as a form of assessment to see how much background a student may have in the focus topic allows teachers to drive their instruction in a certain way to provide accessibility for all their students. I loved seeing how frayer models are used in math and how you have put your own twist on this strategy! You used images to show examples/non-examples, rather than listing them, which is extremely beneficial for our learners. I also like that you said this strategy promotes discussion around the vocabulary word.

The Frayer Model is a fantastic way to have students focus on "examples" versus "non-examples". The ability to identify these differences is a great skill that supports comprehension. Frayer Model also lends itself to expanding on questioning. (Rurak)

Math is not my subject by any stretch of the imagination. What I loved about this game was it encouraged me to try and teach myself the answer to questions I did not understand. Students could look at their notes, textbooks, or Google a "how-to" video or an explanation.
