I love these books so much and have been reading them for 5 years now as they come out. I know they may not hold a lot of material value but they hold the emotional roller coaster that I've been living and are one of the few things I find I can personally connect to.

I got these CD's recently for my birthday. They are a tad unusual in terms of music, being a wide variety of orchestral soundtracks to varying sections of theme parks from Europe. Again, while they might not have a ton of physical worth they've helped me threw some very tough times recently and my heart and soul are incredibly attached to the music. I have both Toverland albums and the Liseberg album.

This may sound weird and atypical but I believe most American's long for stability. Stability includes financial and job success, which are pretty big issues currently in our country. Perhaps I'm the only one who sees this as an issue, but I think many people long for the ability to be able to focus on things other than basic survival, and that many people find this value hard to label.

I think happiness is a central ideal to the "American Dream". I think that's why many people want to come here. Yes they come to escape hard times back home, but there's something so attractive to being able to forge your own path in a new world that I think the American people embody in ways most other nationalities don't

I think as I child we often overlook the transition into awareness. There are definitely times when our arrogant bliss allows us to overlook a lot of the problems in our world. This "transition into meaning" slowly happens over time as we become more and more aware of our surrounding, and helps move us past the material want of youth.

I think as children we learn to rely on our parents for just about everything. Slowly we learn to rely on ourselves, but most people never truly grow out of inherent trust of people and the need to be with others in a dependent relationship. I'm not exactly sure how and when I developed the want to be independent, but it's definitely affecting a lot of my decisions and driving me to look a lot further ahead than most people my age.

In 5 years I should be around halfway through my education. I've heard so many stories of college students drowning in debt and struggling to feed themselves while getting educated. Hopefully I won't have to go through all of that, but I will definitely learn to value not wondering how much I can afford to spend on food and instead worry about if I'm getting to class on time.

Music has been somewhat of a journey for me. I have a birth defect which hindered my speech and in turn made wind instruments incredibly difficult to play. I went through surgeries to fix the defect, but some issues still persist. I think having to work through the struggle of learning how to play on my own instilled independence in me.
