This video caused uproar and sparked a light under the BLM Movement. The killings of people like Breonna Taylor, Elijah McCain, and Ahmaud Arbury was also a driving force behind the movement. Despite the fact that 93% of BLM protests were peaceful, that 7% is what seems to get the most media coverage and thus the most criticism. When there's a group of people next to you stealing, seeing them do it and get away with it makes you more inclined to do the same thing. For instance, while BLM Protesters talked, the other protestors sat quietly while letting them get their thoughts out and agreeing with them. But when the police officers would talk, some of the protestors would roll their eyes, barely pay attention to them while they were talking, and even cut them off/talk over them. This happened vice versa with the police as well. He was fully aware of the harm he was doing mainly because of his repeated behavior. Spitting/coughing on someone, while as horrible as it is, one time can maybe be deemed unintentional in terms of trying to hurt that person later on.
