My family is the heart to most of passions, especially when it comes to my future career. In the image above, is a small portion of my family but imagine more kids than adults. Being the oldest daughter and the oldest cousin, I had to become that figure the little ones can look up to and always come to for advice. Whether it's me helping them with their homework or going out exploring all the things they would want to explore, I found joy in those small moments. Always being surrounded by younger children made me realize that working with them could be a fun and fulfilling career, which sparked my passion for education!

Taking the needed steps for my future career makes me excited about the outcome. I always put in perspective that this career is not ready for me - as I am preparing myself to be ready for it! Once I obtain my degree, I hope to teach higher elementary grades like fourth or fifth. However, I am open to teaching any grade that I gravitate to more. Becoming an educator to me is more than just having the cute Pinterest themed room but more about becoming a mentor and hype person for any student that enters the classroom.

Coming to the University of Arkansas, was one of the best decisions I made when it came to my future career goals. The university has provided me with different learning experiences and professional guidance. Over summer '25 I was an orientation leader for the incoming class. I was able to assist students/parents and make connections with them to ensure inclusivity when coming to the university. In addition, I am a new RA in Adohi hall supporting residents and providing guidance when needed for them. These new experiences are all learning tools I want to bring with me into my classroom. I want to be well equipped and prepared for my first year in teaching.
