The student to student conversations all sounded like they were on task. Next time, I would like to spend a longer period of time in each room, and see the beginning of a lesson, to see how things get started. Many times it empowers students to do their work when they feel they have control. It is great to see kids in environments different than my own, engaged in different ways. I was impressed by the respectful and positive environments that were evident in each classroom. The students were aware of their expectations and followed them. I LOVED observing AVID. Watching middle school students interact in that way was amazing. I would love to observe more classrooms throughout the year.
