I very much agree with the apparent cultural divide. Whether it be a racial divide or an old Neff vs. new Neff divide, we are not making an effort and it shows. We don't have to love each other but we need to respect each other and part of that respect is learning about each others backgrounds and presenting a united front.

At Neff there is a divide. This is most likely due to the lack of knowledge on various groups. Understandably we are not programmed or can easily recognize our biased due to internal unconscious factors; however, we must be educated on these things if we want to see real change.

Teachers are culturally alike tend to group together.

Also teachers who have served at Neff longer tend not to take the new comers seriously.

Neff is divided. Many of the events hosted and celebrations bring the staff together, but the staff is still separated amongst their own “choice” of groups.

I’m often out of the loop on things because I usually keep to myself. But I notice all the time how cliquey Neff is. It doesn’t surprise me that there are even deeper divisions among our staff than I realized. I hope that we can learn to be more welcoming towards each other, less competitive, and more respectful of each other’s differences, but also privacy.

Teachers and staff have some trouble with making negative assumptions about other staff members due to biases and/or cultural differences. Taking the intentional step to ask questions and get to know more about each other could make a huge difference in our campus culture.

At Neff, the community to me is divided Meaning, people who get along with each other stick to each other . Very “clickish” and sometimes very awkward to engage in conversations with people who may seem as if they don’t want to be bothered.

I have seen diversity in my student populations and in my fellow teachers. That is beautiful, but we still do not understand much about the diverse cultures existing at the campus. Stress resulting from such limited understanding is obvious.

There is a divide. I believe it’s a mix of things. old vs new, cultural, grade level, quad, and content. Everyone wants to be the best grade level/quad/subject

lately it has felt as if there’s a divide in which it feels like a cultural divide in which each “clique” feels like they need to one up the other or be better than them which is not the way things should be. I feel like we must all do a better job of getting to know and respect each others opinions, cultures, & backgrounds to limit the ignorance that we are displaying. We need to be the change that we wish to see within the students.

While I have made connections with some really great people here, I feel as though there isn’t any opportunities to get to know everyone outside of work.

As a New Comer, I felt welcomed, however I analyze myself to do a better job to learn my fellow coworkers (i.e names, job titles). I fault myself because I need to take the initiative.

At Neff, I must have been wearing rose colored glasses. I wast aware of the disconnect. I have found all in my relm and the friendly faces that great me that we are all invested and here for the right reasons! All of Our little ones!

I do wish we had more time🥹 and meaningful events.

I’m liking it here so far my team is fun and influential. I’m being reminded of key skills of teaching I haven’t used before. It kind of does feel like some lingering beef amongst staff however. I don’t focus in on the negativity. I’m more interested in productive interactions to help me progress as an educator.

The lack of community at Neff stems from a cultural divide, where different traditions and a reluctance to change keep groups separate. While efforts have been made to bridge the gap through events and projects, deep-rooted differences make it challenging to foster unity. Finding ways to highlight commonalities between traditions could help bring people together. Communication with each other will help make the team as a whole solid instead people tend to go to admin instead of addressing the person directly

There’s a diversed group of teachers, not only with ethnicity but representation of male and female teachers. I’m glad we’re talking about this today. It starts with us!

The community at neff could be stronger if we stop having negative perspective of others. We need to be accepting of one another and stop making assumptions. The staff is divided and it makes sense why but stop outcasting people and uplift one another rather than tearing each other down. We all have the same agenda at work.
