He pretended to be a circus announcer and was shouting good things about Richard Parker: "they (tigers) are amazingly adaptable,” (165). He is jealous of Richard Parker because of this trait. Richard Parker who is an Atheistic and cannibalistic side of him and he is adaptable because anyone can be an Atheist and/or a cannibalistic.
