Warren Buffett,

Is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and one of the world’s wealthiest people alive. He is widely considered as one of the most successful investors; Mr. Buffett employs a “hands-off” management style, which in case has worked extremely well. I would classify Mr.Buffett a leadership style of Laissez-fair, Warren buffet is the type of leader that would be more laid back and one that jokes around compared to the strict type of leader that will tell you what to do and keep checking up on you every five minute’s (Democratic). He wants to know the people he works with on a personal level, not just in the field. He trust’s his team, and when you trust your team, in retrospect they will do a good job. He believes that applause is a good thing that people should get for doing such a good job an “intelligent applause” is what he calls it. Communication skills is another thing that is important in his eyes, you need to become a good communicator. He is seen in this way because when he is leading others, or doing a speech he shows interest in the subject and will expand his knowledge on the subject and his opinion and be able to step back and let another person say their opinion and what they believe in.

The picture of warren Buffett bellow shows that he doesn’t mind what people think, he will where many blue jays tattoo on his face for everybody to see and to
show that he is not all about just the profession. He is laid back and doesn’t mind what people have to say, he has a great sense of humor as well. Warren
Buffets state’s that “you only find out who’s swimming naked when the tide goes away” this quote means that you can only tell who is bluffing when their cover
is blown. Mr.Buffett has also quoted, “ focus on your costumers and lead your people as though their lives depends on your success.” Which means that you
should just lead people to all meet a common goal, you need to motivate them in a way that they will be inspired to accomplish with you. The four personality
traits that I would say describe Warren Buffet would be; friendly, co-operative, confortable and sociable. I believe that he qualifies under these
personality traits by examples which support that he is friendly because he shows an effort to get to know his workers, connect with them on a personal
level and understand were they are coming from. He is co-operative because he will let other take over the leader role if they have something that inspires
them, he will share the responsibility with other and help others. Warren Buffett is confortable because he doesn’t have this intensity like other CEO’s
do, you could walk into his office and not be afraid to share your opinion on an idea, he makes the environment a comfortable one. Lastly Mr.Buffett is
sociable because he takes the time to communicate with others, he believes that communication is a big thing in keeping a good business going. If he believes in communication and he shows the communication personality trait quite well. An example of the leadership skills that Mr.Buffett has shown is humanistic, he is humanistic because he is concerned about the humans that he is working with, he cares for his employees. Mr.Buffet has conceptual leadership skills because he shows the ability to think creatively and understand abstract ideas. Warren Buffet motivate others by letting his followers have the freedom to do things the way that they wanted to, he doesn’t lay out plans or instructions for them to follow. He let his followers/ employees do things the way that they wanted to do it. He motivated others by contributing to their efforts and not forcing ideas onto his employees, he let them have the freedom to complete things in their own way.

Authoritarian Leader

For this assignment I choose past U.S President John. F Kennedy. He has proven he is an authoritarian leader many times but if you are familiar with Mr. Kennedy and his work with the space program, you will know that one moment sticks out from the rest. This one moment has motivated the whole country to complete one goal and bring the United States, and the world, into a new era. I will provide a video with his speech to the country regarding the first man on the moon and how to send him there. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwFvJog2dMw). In this video you can obviously take away the authoritarianism characteristics displayed by Mr. Kennedy. He sets a goal and wants to see it done. No matter how impossible it seemed back then and how out of reach it seemed, Mr. Kennedy looked past those barriers and took hold of this challenge head on. I think this in it of itself speaks greatly to his character. Kennedy always was against creating layers in the surroundings which would promote open communication among the individuals which would end up in rivals. In order to avoid the dictatorial nature of a leader, a lot of attention to the details is required so that the respective task is covered by the appropriate person with proper co-ordination and guidance. Out of all the leadership styles, Kennedy’s leadership style proved to be the most effective and influenced one. He followed the authoritative and charismatic leadership style. Authoritative leaders are to be known as the experts in whatever they get into. They are able to provide you with a clear vision and a perfect path through which it can be achieved and be a success. Kennedy had a great personality and was no surprise why he was elected president. There was just something charismatic about him. You just had to like him. He also had a certain charm to him that made you respect and believe in him and also make him very likeable. All in all, Mr. Kennedy is a great example of authoritarian leadership due to his can-do attitude and charismatic presence.

Adolf Hitler

Adolf Hitler was a very powerful democratic leader. He could easily manipulate and make others do what he wanted. Hitler was a very scary leader, he convinced many Germans to do whatever he believed in. Even though Hitler was arguably one of the worst human beings to ever live on the planet, he may actually go down as one of the most powerful leaders to ever live. Hitler felt that all minorities should not be on this planet, and that list included: Colored people, homosexuals and disabled people. He was the Nazi leader from the years 1934 all the way to 1945. That is a very long time to be in control of a group of people. Hitler had all of his own strategies that he would do to get the attention of people and he also had many different leadership qualities. He was very powerful and people would always listen to him because they were terrified if they didn't that something would happen to their families. Hitler believed that he was what the world needed, and he wanted to make the world into his own which he almost succeeded in doing. Adolf had the troops to help him do everything, they would obey and believe
everything he told them to do. Hitler was a goal setter, and he planned in what he was going to do and did most of them. The goals that Hitler had were very
twisted and disturbing but he accomplished the majority of the things that he said he was going to do. Even though the goals he had were terrible, he did
accomplish them which most leaders can't do. A lot of people who have seen Hitler in person would say that he brought intimation with him when he would
show up. Whenever Hitler would do a speech he would select a few of his troops to place in different places. As Hitler would end his speech the troops that he
selected would begin to start to clap. When they would start to clap, the rest of the people would follow and they also would start to clap. All of the people were so intimated that they felt that they would have to clap and support. In my opinion the main reason why Hitler was such a big democratic leader was because of his confidence. He would not take no for an answer and was always working on what he was doing. Hitler’s leadership traits weren’t set with good intention at all, he manipulated people, lied, and treated people with so much disrespect. Hitler had a negative outlook on life, he didn’t want to see people succeed, and he just wanted a plan to go his way and not have anyone else’s say in the matter. Adolf had a very self-centred view on life, he only wanted things to go his way, even though there were other people around him Hitler believed that people that weren’t “similar” to him shouldn’t receive and live with the same amount of respect. A personality trait that Hitler had was determination, he was determined and driven to make things go his way no matter what. Hitler’s democratic leadership style had his troops doing whatever he demanded, they automatically wanted to do everything he said and do it his way. Another leadership trait that Hitler had was he was good communicating with his own troops, he was able to talk to the groups of people and they would all want to do what he’s putting out to them just to make him happy. Hitler’s democratic leadership style lead him to manipulate many people, he could have used his communicating skills for good, but he was determined to use them for disrespect. Hitler is known for what he did to people, he is known for the disgusting and hurtful things he did to people, this means people don’t want to look up to him as a leader, mostly people will want to look at him and wonder why he did what he did. From Hitler people will want to learn from his mistakes and use power of leadership in a more positive and more helpful way to society. Hitler’s troops are just as disrespectful for following in his footsteps, they just wanted to see him succeed and it didn’t matter what it meant for him to do that. He made an impact on many people’s lives for the worse and now it is something that people can look at and see how leadership can be used in many ways. It is very unfortunate because imagine if he was actually trying to do positive things for this world, he could have achieved so much with his leadership style.
