I am actually happy that everyone will be posting various programs as part of this activity. I had started a list, but not kept it up-to-date with everything that came up. This will be an opportunity to catch up on some that I have missed. Included below is a list of some that I did make note of.

Infographic software (Canva, easel.ly)

Easily create posters, brochures, infographics and more. There are many possibilities for this type of software. As an assessment tool, students can choose to use this software as an alternative to traditional written reports (while still including all required information).

Mindmapping tools (bubbl.us, Coggle, Mindomo)

Software that promotes making connection between concepts. Have students create digital mindmaps that can be easily changed and added to. They can even work collaboratively on the same mindmap from different devices. Can be used as an alternative assessment tool (think making connections in novels in English).

Comic Making Software (Pixton, Comic Strip It!)

Software that allows users to create their own comic strips. Some software allows users to take pictures directly from their device and upload it into the comic strip. This would be a great story telling tool that would engage students in the creative process (an alternative product that students could submit for assessment).

Kami

Tool that allows for annotation of files, and can record screen and audio as well. Can possibly using this as an alternative way to give feedback to students who submit work digitally (through Google classroom for example).

Screencastify

Tool that allows the user to record screen activity (and audio). A benefit to this tool is that it comes as an extension for Chrome and therefor can be used on Chromebooks. Teachers (or students) can create tutorials, record presentations, or provide feedback.

Stop motion Studio

An app that allows the user to create (and edit) stop motion videos. This is a great way to integrate technology use into the classroom and give the students an opportunity to be really creative. This would be an alternative product students could submit for assessment.
