This was for unemployed and unmarried men ages 18-25 but later expanded to age 28. This caused many Americans to become angered with them and felt they were wasting materials that could be used towards the war effort. Albert Einstein alerted FDR of the German nuclear program. Robert Oppenhiemer started working on the atomic bomb.
