you can ask the person who defamed you to take down the material;

you can report the defamatory material to social media and ask them to take down the material (if it was posted on Facebook or Twitter etc);

you can send the person who defamed you with a legal notice asking them to take down the material and make a public correction;

you can sue the person who defamed you (or anyone involved in defaming you) for defamation. If you have been defamed, you must sue within the time limit of 1 year from when the material was communicated.

The Palmers posted on a facebook group statements that included  Mr Nader ‘may or may not be related to Satan’..

Mr and Mrs Palmer were ordered to make an apology on the Scotland Island Community Facebook page. Mr Mohareb was ordered to pay costs.

Mr Mohareb kept taking the Palmers court for an appeal on the order of costs and for claims he made against them of perjury.  In the end the Judge dismissed Mr Mohareb’s appeals.  He is now on the Vexatious litigants list (meaning he can no longer sue anyone for frivolous reasons), because he keeps making nuisance claims in court costing other people tens of thousands of dollars and wasting the courts time
