A day at Bramall Lane

What is more typical to do in a city than going downtown to the football stadium of one of the city's teams to watch some chaps playing a little bit of the sport? The spectacle on the field not always may be the best. In case of league football in England the majority of times it isn't, but well, that's another topic. But in the stands it hardly ever disappoints. I headed to Bramall Lane last week to watch a Sheffield United game against Hull City.
The thing started with an emotional minute of silence for those who lost their lives in the Second World War. Props to English people in this one, they know how things should be done.
Back to the action match kicked-off with one the best football chants I've ever heard, a magnificent version of 'Annie's Song' by John Denver called Greasy Chip Butty in his 'Yorkshirish' version.

Lyrics are as it follows:

You Fill Up My Senses,
Like A Gallon Of Magnet ,
Like A Packet Of Woodbines,
Like A Good Pinch Of Snuff,

Like A Night Out In Sheffield,
Like A Greasy Chip Butty,
Like Sheffield United,
Come Fill Me Again,

Na Na Na Na Na...OOOOHH!

Can confirm that the nights out in Sheffield and the greasy chip butty are pretty good. Still don't know about the packet of Woodbines and the pinch of snuff, but we will keep informing.
