Identity should be written by individuals who have experienced the same type of themes as what they are writing, producing, and creating literature about. Having individuals write on what they have gone through make those experiences and themes more meaningful and heartfelt. I think the targeted audience would feel more comfortable with a creator having their work represent who they are rather than fabricating things that they try to portray they understand but they do not actually understand. Having individuals have content on things they have not really gone through leave room for mistakes and false information.

I think, on the Hollywood perspective, actors should be playing rolls that have themes that they have experienced themselves. For instance, having a straight actor play a LGBTQIA+ character might cause for some issues. I know acting is what they are trained for but having someone play a roll that matches their own identity will have some authenticity to the character. This might cause for some audience members to feel more connected to the character and more in favor of the show/movie. I also think directors/screenwriters should write and direct content that they have experienced in their life. Having their identity displayed in their work can make for the film/show to be more authentic for the targeted audience.

This is also a little bit off topic but I think identity should be represented in Hollywood and in literature. Having identity being shown through different platforms can have audience members be seen through those literature pieces and will feel like they are not alone with their experiences. At the moment, I do not think identity is well represented in Hollywood and through literature.

Lil Nas X's hit song about gay themes was nominated for three Grammy Awards, having LGBTQIA+ narratives to the highest level of achievement in the music industry. The song is called Montero (Call Me By Your Name). Its title is a reference to the gay romance novel and 2017 film “Call Me By Your Name.” But the songs lyrics are less about love and more about lust, with some lines including “romantic talking? You don’t even have to try” and "I’m not fazed, only here to sin."
