         <title>Action strategies: Building influence when working with a team </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I am always thinking how I can change my mind, shape opinions, and move others to act. The ability of the influence skill is necessary to be a good leader at all levels. <br><br>There are three strategies for achieving my goal. First of all, I have to build trust with others. When my co-workers and my followers trust me, I can influence them easier. For example, if I am in a team and doing a school assignment, my team members will be open to my influence and opinions if they trust me. Otherwise, it is hard to make them still listen to me and believe that my ideas are necessary to execute. Secondly, I should focus on actions. Actions are more efficient than any words. I think I have to speak through my actions instead of speeches. Even though I may have a lot of working experiences and skills as my background in the future, I still need to take measures to prove that I can build influence in the workplace. At last, listen to others and respect teammates are essential to building influence. If I want to engage and motivate others, I have to hear about each person's idea and encourage them to participate. What's more, my responsibility is to create a respect and free working environment. After that, I can easily empower others. </div>]]></description>

         <title>My two leadership goals</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My first leadership goal is the capacity to influence when working with a team in order to increase the motivation of others. However, the influence skill is very critical of being a leader. I consider that a good leader can lead a team  through the social and emotional approaches to influencing, not just using the rational method.<br><br>My other leadership goal is to develop the conflict resolution skill in the workplace. I think this ability is critical especially in the hospitality industry. It is very common that conflicts happen within a team. To be an effective leader, I have to be able to identify conflict issues and know how to resolve them effectively in a positive way.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Action Strategies: Developing the conflict resolution skill</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There are two strategies for developing the conflict resolution skill. Firstly, I have to use active listening skills. In the words of "Skills You Need", "Active listening not only means focus fully on the speaker but also actively showing verbal and non-verbal signs of listening". (2016, para. 6) After the conflict issue happened, active listening requires me to restate others' positions to make sure understand them correctly. Another strategy is brainstorm possible solutions when facing a conflict issue. It is necessary to list all possible solutions that one of them might helpful to solve the problem. </div>]]></description>
