The millennial generation was born into technology and to this day they still are still constantly surrounded by it. It has created a lack of socialization when it comes to face-to-face interaction. Per usual, social media played a huge role in this. Social media is addictive and it gives off dopamine which is in drugs. This makes people want to be on their phones constantly because it is so addictive. Throughout this video, the speaker touches on different topics of why social media has affected the millennial generation in such a negative way. He goes on to say that Millennials turn to social media because it makes them feel good for a little while. But once your instagram likes start going down, you begin to start questioning your worth as a person. This is such a negative trait that comes along with social media because it is a real and existing thing that makes multiple people depressed. Getting off social media apps and living life in the moment will help millennials become more dependent on themselves and help the focus more on themselves as well.

4-opinions- Really good TedTalk.

2-keywords-negative, technology

3-summary- This website basically hit all the key points on how technology has shaped the millennial generation. I thought that this source would fit in perfectly will my topic because this generation was born in to technology and has always been surrounded by the influence of technology. It states in this passage that communication is lacked so heavily in the millennial generation because people are so consumed in social media apps that when it comes to face-to-face communication they are not aware on how to correctly form and make normal conversation. I have personally seen this exact problem continue to get worse throughout my years of high school and college. Socialization skills also come from the ability to communicate with others. Technology has hindered socialization because people are trying to escape reality and this can negatively affect communication and social skills growing up.

2- keywords-millennials

3-summary- In this article it states why millennials heavily lack communication skills and how to help them. Personally, since I am considered a millennial, I thought that this article was very interesting. Considering that the millennial generation is getting to be old enough to go into the workplace, problems are starting to arise. This article states that millennials are “lazy, narcissistic, and social-media obsessed..”, of course these are just labels that people have given millennials over time but it is necessary to know and understand that this is a real and occurring problem in today’s society. Once again, it states that this generation is too involved with communicating through screens that it is difficult for them to have a conversation face-to-face, which can affect them negatively in a certain career path or just everyday life.

opinions- I agree with everything that this article informed me on.

2- keywords- friendships, relationships

3-In this article it states the different ways that technology is used in a romantic relationship to connect the two partners. From afar, you would think that technology has drawn couples closer but according to this article that is not correct. There is multiple different surveys taken in this article to show which partner feels the most satisfaction, stability, and the most attached to their partner. In most of the studies it stated that technology was pushing the couples farther apart than drawing them closer, mostly because one partner is too consumed in some sort of technology and was not giving them the attention that they need in order to form romantic relationships. This article also states that having online relationships could be negative because it is very likely for these people to become socially introverted. All in all, the surveys stated accurate information related to the fact that social media can affect a relationship negatively and positively as well.

4&5-opinions- I thought this article also gave me reliable and good information. The three different ways that technology affects a relationship negatively is intimacy, distraction, and depression. It has caused distraction in relationships because some partners are too distracted by their technology devices. Technology devices have changed intimacy in a relationship because it stirs up conflict and dissatisfaction in a relationship. It causes depression by having a negative impact on mental health.

4- Loved this website. gave me nice visuals and helped me throughout writing the readers resource guide.

5- this website is .org and also gave me really good information.

2- keywords- social media, isolation

3- summary- A lot of things stood out to me in this article as I read through it. One quote specifically stood out to me and it said, “it makes us so good at storytelling, but not so good at storyliving”. This stood out because, when you think about this quote from different aspects it is so true. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest and savored. Social media keeps people away from living their life, it actually does just the opposite. It keep people occupied by certain filters, comments and likes, and a fantasy life that is created just by them. Technology keeps people too busy, and they are missing out on some of life's most precious moments. Social media on the other hand, is pure evil. According to this article, it has changed the way people interact, intimacy, and keeps us from being fully known. This makes sense because some people put up walls and often times post fake news on their social media accounts. This all leads into the same direction, which is that technology has changed the way people interact, and not in a good way.

4&5- Nice website. Very clear reading for me. 10/10 reliable.

The article says that people can use technology in a positive way when they are trying to stay connected with long distant friends or family. But mostly the article points of the negative impacts of technology when it comes to communication. Throughout reading this article I came across this topics- mobile technology has lessened face-to-face communication, disconnection with all of the connection, lack of intimacy, and the effects of mental health. All of these topics tie into one another on the negative side of how technology affects.

4&5- Really good website-helped me out tremendously.

2- keywords- millennial, health, depression, communication.

3- summary- There are multiple reason that technology can be bad for people’s mental health. Considering that the use of social media is at an all time high right now it can affect people in many ways, that they sometimes might not even recognize. Social media influences people negatively by causing self-esteem issues, lack of memory, lack of sleep, and bad attention spans. Social media can cause self-esteem issues in people all over the world because it is extremely easy to compare yourself to others in today’s society. Lack of memory can be caused because occasionally people are too focused on there phones to be in the moment and it distorts how people remember the past. Social media can often times cause a lack of sleep, considering that people stay on there phones an extreme amount and they are not aware of the time that has gone by- this leads to sleep deprivation, which is very common in the younger generations. Last but not least is bad attentions spans. This is mostly cause because there is always a large amount of information at your fingertips. This can be distracting and cause people to be on there phones during certain times when they should not be and this is what causes bad attention spans. Mental health can be affected by each of these factors and it can could even cause depression and anxiety.

4- opinions- good source of information. Of course, throughout the years the use of technology increased dramatically but he used this research and turned it into why the use of our screens make us less happy. In the research he states that people are on social media apps that make them unhappy for at least seven minutes a day. As the video goes on, he states that life becomes richer and more colorful whenever you get of your phone and make connections with the people around you. This should be practiced to increase happiness and a better state of mental health.

4&5- Nice source of information. Gave good visuals to me as he told stories.
