This line of dialogue shows dramatic irony and how deceptive it is implying "I'm your friend". Ironically, Othello doesn't know who Iago is and what his motives are, his response shows just how believable Iago is implying that he knows that he has his best interests at heart, not knowing that he's secretly planning his demise.
