Suspenseful music: When Marion is driving in harsh rain conditions, there is suspenseful music that foreshadows that something will happen. The intense rain forces her to stop at a motel that Norman lives at with his mom.

Foreshadowing: When Marion first got to the Motel, she heard Norman's mom calling out, but she was not actually there. However, Norman swore to Marion and the detective that his mother is still there.

Tension: There was tension between the detective and Norman, when he came to investigate the situation. He asked Norman a series of questions, but Norman stuttered, lied, and he didn't want to answer the questions especially the ones about his mom or Marion's body.

Marion was the final girl because she encountered the killer multiple times. She was also put into compromising situations with the killer that led to her eventually being murdered.

Marion has relationships which isn't usual for final girls, and she also went into the shower by herself.

Another final girl was Courtney in Paranorman. She was similar to Marion because she also was in relationships, however she never put herself in bad situtations.

Othered: Norman and the dead people are other out by the towns people all throughout the movie. Norman is othered out because the way he acts is not normal to the people around him, and the dead people are othered because they are simply zombies.

Setting: The main conflict takes place in the woods with all types of jagged trees, and the witch brings spikes up from the ground.

Characters: The witch makes noises and speaks when Norman gets to the woods, but she is not actually visible making Normans mission scarier.

Courtney is a final girl because she is the main female character in Paranorman. She is involved throughout the plot, especially towards the end when the town's people riot against Norman.

Courtney has had prior relationships before the story, and during the story she starts to have feelings for Mitch (Neil's older brother). However, in the movie Courtney never drinks, smokes, or has sex with anyone. She also never put herself in any compromising situations like going off by herself.

Courtney is my favorite final girl because I haven't really seen any other horror movies.
