Flipgrid offers a way to not only help create a community in virtual learning but also it provides differentiation. Students create short videos to share with the class. Teachers can create topics or questions and then students post their videos as a response. In a virtual environment this can help create a community but giving students a chance to see each other and hear their voices. This is also a great platform for students who may struggle with written responses. This takes away that pressure and gives those students another way they can show mastery of the topic or skill. One fun way to use Flipgrid is to have students create book talks. While students are reading at home, they aren't able to share them with their peers. Students can create book talk videos on flip grid to entice other children to want to read the books. This not only encourages reading but it also helps students work on their speaking and persuasion skills.

Edpuzzle offers a wide variety of videos on different skills at different grade levels. Another really great feature about Edpuzzle is that it will collect data for you. Students watch the video, answer questions, and the platform will save their answers and give you a score for each student. One way to use Edpuzzle is if you are studying inferencing and need a fun way to assess if students understand the skill. There is a Monster's Inc. video that students always enjoy that has no talking parts and students are asked to inference the characters' feelings and actions.
